Research at the Historical Society

The Historical Society has a browsing library that is open during office hours and by appointment.  You can find Wisconsin Blue Books, Merrill Yearbooks, City Directories, Logging and other research articles, and various books and publications that deal with Merrill and history in general.  Our collections archive contains photos, maps and other paper documents on various Merrill subjects and information from this area and is only available by making an appointment.  Letting us know ahead of time what you are researching will allow us to provide you the appropriate materials in our possession for your review.

Added to our research opportunities in 2016, is the Sherburne S. Merrill Railroad Research Library.  A group of local railroad enthusiasts, collectors and modelers have brought together an amazing selection of books, magazines and guides to help you find that elusive photo or equipment you have been searching for.  This library is open on Fridays from 9 am to noon or by appointment.
